Creating a Consistent, but Powerful, Swing

Lately, I have been with dealing with collapsing at the top of my backswing. This has led to a bit of inconsistency in my swing, loss of rhythm, errant timings, and all leading to some poor shots.

After working with my coach, we came up with a drill that helps me shorten my swing while keeping widthβ€”so I can maintain leverage and not lose distance.

Here’s how it works:

  • Take a resistance band (any band works) and loop it around the base of your neck as an anchor point.
  • Grab the ends and pull them down into your golf setup position.
  • From there, rotate into your backswing while keeping even tension on both sides of the band.
  • Rotate through to your finish with that same structure.

This drill is awesome for training width, connection, and consistent arm structure throughout the swing.

Check out the demo below, where I also go over some other tips to keep in mind while performing this drill. Let me know how you get on! πŸ‘
